Job Description:
The co-op student will be working under the guidance of senior engineers and/ or senior technicians, in an entry-level position that will provide a wide range of experience and responsibilities. The employee will perform assignment-specific engineering technologist duties and will have exposure to renewable energy projects for wind and solar, substation layouts, distribution lines, along with protection and control techniques and SCADA systems.

Job Requirements:

  •     College student currently enrolled in electrical engineering technologist three( 3 )year program
  •     Highly motivated self-starter comfortable working with various levels and departments within the organization
  •     Candidates must possess a strong work ethic
  •     Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done
  •     Strong organizational, time management
  •     Strong communication skills both oral and written
  •     Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word

Job Description:
Day-to-Day Support

  •     Working within a team, mentored by a senior technical resource, to investigate and resolve system deficiencies and optimize system performance
  •     Preparing new and revisions of existing documentation in support of engineering packages
  •     Collecting and verifying data, field check equipment for technical information with the assistance of project engineer, project managers and senior techs


Responsibilities
  •     Support project engineers and project managers for project execution
  •     Support senior technicians and coordination in execution of projects
  •     Preparing technical documents submittals
  •     Drafting electrical and SCADA drawings in AutoCAD (single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams) and substations arrangements from markups.
  •     Developing electrical load lists, cable schedule, bill of materials (BOM, for electrical system installation
  •     Interacting with a group of engineers, technologist and drafters
  •     Supporting logistics for site deliveries
