Job Description:
CIMA+ is currently seeking an Intermediate Piping Designer to work on a multi-discipline team for engineering projects in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. The candidate will be working on a large variety of projects, including brownfield engineering.
This position is for a full-time assignment based in Calgary, with occasional field visits.

Job Requirements:

  •     Intermediate piping designer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in related industrial projects.
  •     Diploma or certificate in Drafting or Engineering Technology.
  •     Working knowledge of 2D and 3D computer-aided technology, specifically AutoCad and Autoplant.
  •     Solid understanding of equipment design, piping specifications and related industry codes and standards such as CSA, ASME, ANSI, API, etc.
  •     Good communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities:
  •     Overall responsibility for piping design and equipment layout in accordance with commonly used drafting concepts, practices, procedures and code requirements.
  •     Assist lead discipline engineers with preparation, checking and issuing of drawings and deliverables.
  •     Review and incorporate client drafting procedures, standards and specifications into project software for drawing development.
  •     Prepare P&ID's, isometrics, general arrangement drawings, plans, sections and standard detail drawings.
  •     Interact and communicate with design leads and other project members.
  •     Engage in inter-discipline design reviews and contribute to quality control and assurance.
  •     Provide field support at client facilities to develop design concepts, verify existing drawings and perform final design checks.
