Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of automotive safety products is looking for a RF Test Engineer to join their team of technical production professionals.  This is a full-time permanent position located in Markham, Ontario.  Your primary responsibility will be to participate in the specifications, development and launches for test equipment used for the manufacture of high volume automotive radar products. 

Job Requirements:

• Electrical Engineering Degree.
• 3+ years of practical work experience developing RF test systems (2 to 30GHz range).
• Hands on experience with product design of RF Subsystems and/or test development in a high quality/high volume manufacturing environment targeted for automotive electronics.
• Practical experience with the specification, design, procurement, setup, acceptance testing, operation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of automated test equipment.
• Hands on experience with machine troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
• Able to interpret schematics, engineering specifications, mechanical drawings and strong knowledge of industry components.
• Practical work experience and expertise testing and de-bugging programs in C++.
• Familiarity with various communication protocols such as GPIB-488, Ethernet, RS232 and RS485.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Job Duties:

• Support, maintain and troubleshoot test executive based functional test equipment (including fixtures) and drive continuous improvement in terms of tester uptime, reliability, performance and cycle time.
• Manage the commissioning of new test equipment including specification review, validation testing and implementation ensuring timelines are met.
• Perform test limit refinement to accommodate revised hardware and software versions and fundamental platform changes.
• Interface with test equipment vendors (ICT and ATE) as required, improving internal competencies, making required equipment changes and gaining competitive advantage.
• Collaborate with other test and product development engineers regarding strategies for future test equipment.
• Search for and investigate opportunities for cost reductions through increased integration and innovative test strategies.
