Position Summary
•KPMG is looking for a SR&ED Consultant specializing in the Software industry to join their R&D Tax Incentives group.
•SR&ED (Scientific Research & Experimental Development) tax credit is a tax incentive program that helps offset the cost of innovation for companies who invest in technology, new products, new process, etc. The successful candidate will assist our clients in identifying eligible SR&ED activities and describing these activities in a technical report. The candidate will be exposed to leading edge technologies and innovations from Canadian and multi-national companies. In additional, the candidate will have the opportunity to acquire important business skills from KPMG cross-functional practices.

Job Requirements:
•        University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field.
•        Minimum of 2 years professional experience in Information Technology and Software Development
•        Knowledge and experience with the SR&ED program is a definite asset.
•        Ability to provide information and advise on regulations, legislation, and policies concerning applications.
•        Membership in one of PEO, IEEE, ACM, ISP or similar professional organization is an asset.
•        Experience in other R&D related government tax incentive programs such as IRAP, NSERC an asset.
•        Ability to develop concise technical reports in a timely manner.
•        Ability to prioritize tasks for multiple clients to consistently deliver service excellence.
•        Ability to work in a team environment and a desire to continuously learn and develop skills.
•        Strong inter-personal, communications (verbal, written and technical) and analytical skills.

Job Duties:
•        Keep abreast of current and latest trends in science and technology with focus on Information Technology, Software Development, Systems Engineering, Communications, Electronics and emerging technologies.
•        Working with SR&ED Manager, participate in identification of client projects that may qualify for SR&ED tax credits.
•        Analyze and review applications for tax credits and financing programs.
•        Prepare documentation and recommendations around project and expenditure eligibility.
•        Analyze budgets and review corporate financial information, financing, and legal documentation.
•        Participate in and conduct client technical interviews to identify SR&ED eligible projects/activities. Gather the required technical information to articulate SR&ED eligibility.
•        Prepare SR&ED project descriptions that meet the eligibility and documentation requirements of the SR&ED program.
•        Assist SR&ED Manager/Sr. Manager during CRA reviews of SR&ED claims submitted.
