Position Summary
KPMG’s Risk Consulting practice in Calgary is growing and we require an IT Advisory Consultant or Senior Consultant to help manage and develop our IT Advisory Services.
The successful candidate will focus primarily on the delivery of information technology advisory and audit services but also demonstrates flexibility in working on other risk consulting projects as required.

 Job Requirements:
•       Bachelor degree in Business/Commerce or Computer Science required, ideally with a major in Accounting or Finance
•       Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in assessing information technology or system risk. IT audit experience preferred.
•       Completion or aspiration to complete IT Audit designations (e.g. CISA, CISSP)
•       Comfortable with the use of information technology tools, an understanding of information technology environments and development of automated test programs (e.g. CAATs)
•       Knowledge of IT systems, risks and controls. Preference given to candidates with 1-2 years experience with a professional services firm in the delivery of IT Audits and experience delivering a combination of the following advisory projects:

Technical Competency:
•       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•       Understanding of the oil and gas industry and related processes.
•       Experience and knowledge of information system environment would be an asset
•       Highly motivated, committed, self-starter with good organization skills who can prioritize, lead and successfully delegate work and cope with changing priorities.
•       High degree of personal confidence, enthusiasm and drive
•       Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast paced environment

Job Duties:
•       Deliver IT Audit engagements to help ensure technology risks are adequately addressed, this includes testing of IT General Controls and Application Controls.
•       Assess the adequacy of IT Controls over systems and processes and determine control deficiencies and impact.
•       Assist with translating of technical applications knowledge into functional business terminology and vice versa.
•       Deliver assurance and advisory projects and identifying risks, controls, security, compliance, and performance improvement opportunities associated with the design, implementation, and operation of information systems and IT-enabled business processes.
•       Assess new and existing systems in terms of adequacy of controls, security, operational and compliance considerations, conversion issues and project management.
•       Assess information security controls and practices within client environments.
•       Deliver on-time, high quality work that meets the requirements of the engagement and KPMG’s quality standards.
•       Work with cross functional engagement teams comprised of diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
•       Utilize KPMG methodologies and techniques to deliver engagements that meet client requirements and circumstances.
•       Deliver work that is in compliance with quality standards.
•       Ability to deliver multiple client engagements of varying size, scope and complexity.
