As part of our Transactions & Restructuring Group, our Transaction Services (TS) practice helps companies grow and enhance shareholder value by providing strategic advice on merger and acquisition transactions. Our service is designed to help identify risks inherent in these types of transactions, and to find practical solutions to manage these risks. 
We offer start-to-finish support in the acquisition process, including input on strategy, early identification of risk areas, coordination and execution of due diligence investigations (financial and commercial) and input and advice on contract terms geared to reduce risks.  We also get involved in assisting our clients and their other advisors with a host of services surrounding closing the transaction and post-deal integration.
Our TS clients are typically pension funds, private equity funds, large public companies, as well as private businesses. We serve both domestic clients and clients from outside Canada – often working as part of cross-border KPMG teams providing seamless service to clients.

The core functions of Manager Transaction Services are:
• carrying out the relevant financial analysis, interpreting results, and reporting key findings
• Evaluating a business’ historical performance and sustainability of earnings/cash flows, working capital cycles, financial projections, key contractual commitments, accounting policies and capital expenditures
• Participating in KPMG engagement teams with access to senior client executives, attorneys, and private equity investors

Position Summary are:

KPMG's Transaction Services is currently looking for professionals in our Calgary, Canada office at the Manager level. 
Working in multi-disciplinary teams, you will apply your professional and technical skills on a wide variety of transactions and at different stages of the transaction cycle.

Job Requirements:

•    Should be with 4 to 6 years of accounting and/or finance experience in a consulting and/or corporate environment
•    Must be having a Canadian CA designation or equivalent; or previous mergers and acquisition experience in an advisory, corporate, or private equity environment
•    Financial due diligence experience is preferred, although not mandatory
•    Must have a strong interest in Oil and Gas and Energy Services
•    Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment
•    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
•    Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Strong professional report writing skills
•    Proven experience and ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
•    Ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally
•    Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments within Canada and internationally as required
•    MBA, CFA or CBV holders/candidates are encouraged to apply.
 

Job Duties:
 
•    Identifying key issues, carrying out the relevant financial analysis, interpreting results, and reporting key findings
•     Evaluating a business’ historical performance and sustainability of earnings/cash flows, working capital cycles, financial projections, key contractual commitments, accounting policies and capital expenditures
•     Maintaining/obtaining industry and transaction related information on Oil and Gas and Energy Services
•     Undertaking smaller assignments or assisting on larger assignments reporting to a senior manager or a partner
•     Establishing credibility with clients as a representative of KPMG Transaction Services
•     Developing relationships with current and prospective clients
•     Participating in KPMG engagement teams with access to senior client executives, attorneys, and private equity investors
•     Writing detailed reports and analysis
•     Organizing and leading meetings with clients, finance parties, executives of companies for sale, and other stakeholders of the transaction under consideration
•     Providing support/assistance for proposals and other business development activities.
•     Contributing to the effective working of the team and development of team skills and morale.
