Job Requirements:

  • A college diploma or university degree in Polymer or Mechanical engineering or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 months - 1 year experience in a mechanical\physical testing laboratory.
  • Detail oriented as accuracy is essential.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills
  • Self-starter and resourceful.
  • Familiarity with computer programs such as Bluehill 2, Word, and Excel.

Job Description
Working in the Polymer and Medical Devices department of the Exova Health Sciences Division, Mississauga laboratory, you will provide mechanical and physical testing of polymers, plastics, rubbers and composite materials for our clients.  Responsible for testing various materials, components and finish products in accordance with standard test methods (e.g ASTM), in-house SOPs, and experimental test methods, while working under the direction of the manager and/or senior technologists.

  • Sets-up and operates a variety of test equipment including Instron, calipers, durometer, balances, melt flow apparatus.
  • Tests various materials, components and finish products in accordance with standard test methods (e.g ASTM), in-house SOPs, and experimental test methods.
  • Prepares reports as required.
  • Maintains compliance to all health and safety standards and cGMP/ISO 17025 regulatory requirements.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.
