The School of Transportation is currently seeking a dynamic team-oriented individual to instruct within the Heavy Equipment Technician Programs.  The candidate will be a team player demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to learner success.  This position will appeal to an individual who seeks the challenges and opportunities to work with learners, faculty and staff.

Job Requirements:
• You must hold an Alberta Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate of Apprenticeship and Proficiency or equivalent with interprovincial (Red Seal) status.
• Special consideration may be made for an individual who can demonstrate comparable experience instructing related technologies.
• You must have at least five years’ experience as a Journeyperson on either off-road equipment and/or on-road vehicles or equivalent.
• Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated experience and are up to date with current technologies specifically in: on highway power train, air conditioning, steering systems, electrical, failure analysis, air and hydraulic braking systems, and suspension systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, manufactures proprietary software (Wabco, Service Ranger, etc.) and/or other related software (Adobe suite, D2L etc.) will be considered assets.
• Dual certification will be considered an asset (i.e. Automotive & Heavy Duty)
• Prior teaching experience will also be considered an asset.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Successful candidates must provide proof of qualifications. Only education obtained from an accredited institution will be recognized.

Job Duties:
• Prepare and present lessons; to facilitate, instruct, supervise and coach learners in a classroom and shop environment.
• Provide ongoing support, guidance and feedback to learners; by assessing and evaluating learner progress and achievement.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to create an engaging and positive work and learning environment.
• Continuously develop professionally by enhancing both technical knowledge and instructional skills.
