Job Purpose:
In July 2011, the University of Ottawa implemented its new Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP) to help in creating and making changes to graduate programs as well as to support the cyclical evaluations of these programs. The incumbent leads the IQAP implementation for graduate programs while fostering our new institutional culture of continuous improvement.

Job Requirements:

  • A graduate degree in program evaluation, or equivalent in a related field such as business or public administration (a bachelor’s degree and seven or more years’ experience in university administration may also be considered)
  • In-depth knowledge of university programs, operations, governance, structure as well as administrative and internal mechanisms and policies 
  • Experience in program evaluation
  • Experience in project development and management
  • Experience using of a wide variety of information systems and software applications, including Windows and Microsoft Office


Key competencies required at the University of Ottawa:

  • Client Service Orientation: Help or serve others to meet their needs. This implies anticipating and identifying the needs of internal and external clients and finding solutions on how to meet them.

  • Strong strategic, analytical and critical-thinking skills; excellent ability in writing reports destined for management committees and other decision-making bodies

  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to forge and maintain partnerships; awareness of workplace climate; ability to work as a team member with the leadership skills required to facilitate open communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people; superior interpersonal skills; excellent communication and negotiation skills; creativity and problem-solving skills in order to resolve problems
  • Excellent communication skills, spoken and written, in both official languages
