Job Purpose:
Ensures sound management of leave processes, in accordance with provincial laws, regulations and collective agreements. Administers the online leave management system. Administers the section and coordinates dealings with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).

Job Requirements:

  • Human resources and leave management knowledge and experience normally acquired through postsecondary studies or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in leave management and compliance with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act 
  • Experience with automation and large-scale human resource management systems (ERP or HRIM), and with software and computer systems such as spreadsheets, word processors, databases, email and the Internet 
  • Experience in applying policies, procedures and collective agreements in a unionized organization 
  • General knowledge of employment standards, benefits programs, collective agreements and leave management regulations

  • Oral and written communications skills to deal effectively with employees, managers and external bodies to solve problems as required 
  • Bilingualism – English/French (written and spoken)
