About Us
The Accounting Advisory Group at PwC is a consulting group that is dedicated to providing consulting services including accounting advisory services, process improvement, financial effectiveness and regulatory compliance services focused on internal control. The Group primarily focuses on Energy Companies both in Upstream Oil and Gas and Energy Services.
The Senior Associate role is a highly integrated member of the Accounting Advisory Group. The role requires the individual to work effectively and communicate well with the managers in the group to provide high quality work for both our private and public clients.
The role focuses on assisting the Accounting Advisory Services team. This includes outsourcing of accounting functions to clients through engagements of varying forms and lengths. Engagements types include simple book keeping, providing expert tax, valuations and accounting advice, working alongside management as they prepare quarterly and annual financials as well as other required materials.

Job Requirements:
Technical Requirements
•    Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role (minimum new senior), preferably in the oil and gas industry;
•    Canadian CA designation or equivalent reciprocal designation would be preferred.
•    A strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS is advantageous
•    Superior communication (English - oral and written), interview and interpersonal skills that allow you to thrive in a team environment, communicate status of projects proactively and to work with clients whose first language may not be English; and
•    Excellent time management skills.

 Job Duties
•    Work with the team to prepare complex accounting calculations, prepare quarterly/annual financial statements and complete reporting packages to foreign head offices;
•    Research technical accounting matters as required by the manager;
•    Document procedures completed by PwC for the purposes of training and transfer of skills to clients;
•    Work flexibly and respond promptly to ad hoc requests by clients;
•    Perform oil and gas controls testing specific to accuracy of measurement of production; and
•    Assist in the project management component of client relationships.
