The Finance team supports the operational effectiveness of the company. The team is involved in analyzing financial figures, metrics and system and process issues to support major decisions within the business. The key groups within the Finance team include corporate and operational finance, internal teams support, the controllers group, internal audit and risk advisory services, taxation, treasury, corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions.

The Controllers Group is looking for a dynamic, experienced and bilingual Manager in its Business Unit Controllers department for its offices at Nun's Island, Montreal reporting to the Associate Director - Business Unit Controller, Corporate Groups. This Business Unit team forms an integral part of the Bell Canada Controller's team as these three business units together provide the strategic base of services to Bell Canada and its customers. The team works closely with other business units/subsidiaries and corporate groups. Job Description:
- Role is to provide support to all Associate Directors in the group across a diverse range of functions.
- Versatile and challenging position that combines the elements of corporate accounting, financial reporting, accounting policies and special projects:

* Providing accurate accounting guidance using professional judgement and support on diverse issues and transactions, at times complex in nature:
* Subject matter expert on all aspects of capitalization rules (for other BU's also)

* Analysis and presentation of meaningful financial information to senior management as required
* Preparation of the monthly analysis of the variance of the consolidated amortization/depreciation expense
* Preparation of the Plan, YEE and LRP's for the consolidated amortization/depreciation expense
* Support in the closing of monthly books including:
* Review and approval of monthly transactions
* Review of month end results and attendance at related meetings
* Rapid resolution of critical month end issues

* Support on management of risks and provisions relating to various exposures such as A/R, commodity tax
* Custodian of Bell Canada's Asset Accounting manual (key chapters)
* Support in quarterly monitoring of Activity Rate allocation processes and review of annual rate forecasts
* Co-ordination of certain corporate processes such as annual impairments across other BU's etc.
* Review of quarterly external reporting analysis
* Review of annual budgets
* Monitoring of compliance activities through quality assurance review of processes and controls
* Ongoing special projects such as process re-design and improvements

Job Requirements:
* 3 to 4 years of experience in Accounting and Finance
* Profession accounting designation of CPA, C.A. with excellent knowledge of GAAP with ongoing update of this knowledge
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills, in French and English: majority of documents produced are in English.
* Excellent analytical skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with senior management and other members of the team in a professional and efficient manner
* Must be a team player with strong interpersonal ability to manage virtual teams, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines and work overtime if required
* Strong organizational skills, reliable, autonomous and ability to handle multiple requests in order of priority
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of SAP and Peats systems would be an asset
