Deloitte’s Aboriginal Client Services (ACS) team provides professional, expert advice to First Nations and other aboriginal organizations to help them achieve their objectives and build financially successful communities. As a member of our ACS team, you’ll work with First Nations throughout British Columbia and provide support to team members across Canada. You’ll learn about the unique features of the Deloitte Community Trust model and help build our practice as we learn and grow with our clients.

Job Requirements:
Technical Qualifications

  •     2 years of administration experience or a relevant certificate/diploma, or equivalent
  •     Experience with meeting minute preparation, preferred
  •     Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required
  •     Basic understanding of financial information, preferred
  •     Strong verbal and written communication skills

 Other Qualifications:
  •     Ability to travel, required
  •     Strong attention to detail, required
  •     Time management and organizational skills
  •     Ability to handle stressful situations in the most professional manner
  •     Knowledge of First Nations in British Columbia
  •     Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties
  •     Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving
  •     Strong commitment to professional client service excellence
  •     Interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
  •     Experience working with Aboriginal clients is an asset

Job Duties:
Client Meetings
  •     Assist in the organization of First Nation trust meetings, including coordinating Trustee travel and meeting arrangements
  •     Prepare meeting materials required
  •     Attend trust meetings in First Nation communities which may be in remote locations
  •     Prepare the minutes of trust meetings
  •     Follow-up on activities from trust meetings

Trust Administration and Management
  •     Assist in organizing annual First Nation community consultation process, including preparing consultation materials, responding to calls/emails from community members, administering the voting process and summarizing the results
  •     Respond to community member inquiries
  •     Liaise with other Trust secretariat members on trust matters as required, including legal counsel, investment managers, investment consultants, auditors etc…
  •     Assist in the development of policies and procedures for trust operations, economic development or program guidelines
  •     Prepare presentations, correspondence, annual reports and proposals as required and requested
  •     Other projects and support as required
