Job Description:
The Internal Auditor will contribute significantly to the Internal Audit team by conducting independent and objective assessment of CNRL’s system of internal controls and reporting processes, the integrity and reliability of data and information, the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations, and the compliance with policies, procedures, standards, rules regulations and laws. The Internal Auditor will have the opportunity to be involved in all stages of audit assignments including research and planning, execution, reporting, and quality review.

Job Requirements:
• Typically 5+ years of related audit experience in the oil and gas industry with a relevant  post-secondary degree
• Accounting designation complete
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation an asset
• Familiarity with and understanding of:
   o JD Edwards, PRISM, EnterpriseOne, Camino
   o Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel
   o IT/information systems

Job Duties:
• Demonstrate understanding and proficient application of current internal auditing standards
• Develop audit scope and work programs for audit assignments
• Perform audit engagements to ensure risks are appropriately identified and related controls are designed and operating to mitigate the identified risks
• Apply appropriate auditing techniques to analyze information and assess the adequacy of existing controls
• Ensure audit documentation, evidence and working papers are prepared professionally and maintained in a confidential manner
• Develop constructive recommendations to mitigate identified audit issue
• Prepare internal audit reports reflecting the results of the work performed and communicate observations and recommendations to Management
• Complete audits proficiently, thoroughly, on time and within budget
• Review the work performed by other internal audit personnel
• Perform follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit findings
• Undertake special projects
