Job Description:
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the full cycle of activities related to payroll accounting as generated by the Payroll team. In this role, you will have real opportunities for career growth, and you will gain exposure across all areas of Canadian Natural.

Job Requirements:
• Typically 5+ years of related industry experience with a degree or diploma in Accounting
• Completion of accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CFA)
• Familiarity with and understanding of:
   o Working with the Microsoft Office suite, including a high level of proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, macros, V-lookup)
   o Working with analytical tools such as DAS
   o EnterpriseOne (E1)/JDEdwards
   o Working with attention to detail and organization

Job Duties:
• Support all accounting related activities in the HR and Payroll area and explain the financial effects to stakeholders internally and externally
• Develop and improve payroll accounting processes and procedures
• Respond to requests for information from across the business
• Ensure that Payroll journal entries including bi-weekly pay, bonus, director’s fees, share purchases, benefit expenses and recoveries (General Ledger and Accounts Receivable) are accounted for properly
• Support the budgeting team by providing information, guidelines and explanations on G&A costs sourced from Payroll
• Perform monthly Account Reconciliations and report all reconciling items and variances to the Manager to ensure payroll information is accurately reflected in the company’s financial accounting system
• Prepare year-end reports and journal entries for auditors, and adjust entries and accruals, financial reports and statements
• Prepare audit query responses for internal and external audits of accounting payroll data (i.e. Joint Venture, Canadian Revenue Agency , Workers Compensation Board, SOX, Oil Sands Royalty)
