About Us
ABB is looking for site clerks for our Solar Construction Sites located in Cornwall, Prescott and Port Hope Ontario. The selected candidate will be working on site.

Job Summary:
Our client is an established Calgary-based oil and gas company. Currently there is a need for an Accountant for a 12-18 month term with chance of extension. This position will report to the Manager of Finance, Shared Services.

Job Requirements:
- Electrical Engineer/Technologist with minimum of 3-5 years electrical design experience, especially in product development and commercial projects execution for railway applications.
- Solid experience of electrical design software, E3 an asset.
- Knowledge of electrical codes & standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, CSA, NFPA, IEC).
- Ability to work in a production plant.
- French and English (functional)
Technical habilities:
- Power electronics background
- Proven usage of electrical circuits simulation software
- Good technical writing skills, both in French / English
- Technical liaison between the customer and ABB engineering team.
- Develop project standards in conjunction with the customer for use by the engineering team.
- Conduct Railways traction Power and Substations, checkout, witness testing and site commissioning.
- Assume overall technical responsibility for all aspects of the Railways traction Power and Substations
- Support sales and marketing in customer focused initiatives as required.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment or independently as required.
- Strong knowledge of process control and safety systems
- Ability to learn quickly from peers both about technical subjects and procedural methods.
- Actively maintain subject knowledge in a fast changing environment
- Willingness to participate in all phases of the Railways traction Power and Substations project, from kick-off meeting, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Detailed Engineering, Commissioning and Start-up.
- Strong technical communications and presentation skills both written and verbal.
- Soft Skills :
- Bilingual (French and English), spoken and written;
- Demonstrated structured approach in planning his activities;
- Confident, autonomous and shows initiative.
- Awareness of details and quality of work;
- Adaptive to change;
- Good analysis skills;
- Good interpersonal communication skills: capable to work as part of a team.

Job Duties:
- Technical responsibilities within a project; candidate must be capable of designing, sizing semi-conductor components (diodes, SCR, thyristors, GTO,IGBT, etc.). electrically and thermally
- Assist and perform production tests;
- Able to understand customer requirement documents and provide technical assessments to the bid project team;
- Responsible for the specifications, design, documentation and test of power equipment ;
- Prepare and write technical documentation : user and maintenance manual, drawings, training guides, technical, test plans and reports.
- Ensure product conformity to the customer requirements, company quality guidelines, customer satisfaction, schedule and budget.
- Prepare and/or contribute to design review meetings.
- Perform test set-ups and perform type and/or routine tests on equipment;
- Relevant experience with Safety System design and IEC61508 functional safety standard is an asset.
- Implementing the electrical software “E3” as a standard tool for the electrical engineering department.
- Definition of tools (standards, templates, automated scripts, etc.) to facilitate and standardize the use of E3 within the engineering department.
- Preparing detail electrical schematics.
- Working with the engineering department to prepare unit, product and project detailed list of wiring, list of tags, list of interconnections, layouts of panels, etc.
- Coordinate with the lead engineers for all the necessary technical requirements of the projects in all aspects (engineering documentation, detail design, data requirements, etc.)
