Job Summary:
Our client is an established Calgary-based oil and gas company. Currently there is a need for an Accountant for a 12-18 month term with chance of extension. This position will report to the Manager of Finance, Shared Services.

Job Requirements:
- 4-7 years of experience of the similar profile (preferably in the manufacturing company)
- Bachelor degree in business-related discipline holding a CA, CGA, CMA.
- Solid analytical skills
- Result-oriented
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French
- Ability to actively contribute to the decision making process
- Independent worker with proactive and problem solving attitudes.
- Solid knowledge of Excel (experience working in SAP or other ERP system is a benefit)

Job Duties:
- Responsible for the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for head office functions
- Responsible for the analysis of the corporate functions financial performance; including cost center analysis
- Prepare monthly results presentation, including key performance indicators
- Drive process improvements in the corporate group; such as increasing the use of PO's, reporting to the divisional controllers, real estate group improvements in the cost tracking and reporting.
- Responsible for the preparation and subsequent monitoring of corporate allocations and monthly recurring entries
- Involvement in special projects
- Prepares ad-hoc summaries and variance reports for senior management.
- Responsible for multiple month-end activities, including preparation of adjusting JEs and headcount data review
- Involvement in the preparation of the statutory financial statements
