Position Summary:
Surveillance Operators are responsible for the daily on-going monitoring and observation of casino operations, while ensuring the security and integrity of casino assets, staff and patron.  They are required to know and ensure all activity is in compliance with relevant federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulation.  To protect company assets, employees and patrons.  Must ensure all policies and procedures are followed and that gaming activity is conducted in a legitimate manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with preference to graduates with Post Secondary education in Law and Security.
  • Minimum of one (1) or more years of experience in a Security related field or gaming related positions (Cage, Slot, Table Games or Audit).
  • Possess analytical, observational, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of computer applications.
  • Casino Surveillance or related surveillance experience an asset


Licenses, Certifications and/or Registration:
Requires an AGCO Gaming Employee Registration.
WHMIS and Smart Serve Certification.

Responsibilities include:

  • Routine surveillance of the gaming floor identifying potential problems, such as poor game protection, suspicious individuals, and acting as a support unit to other departments in relation to the protection of company assets.
  • Provide evidence in legal matters that have resulted from criminal charges against patrons or employees.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and report any irregularities and/or infractions to relevant supervisory staff.
  • Observe all deliveries/shipments to ensure compliance with the Internal Control Manual (ICM).  Ensure compliance with the Registrar’s Minimum Standards for Surveillance and report discrepancies.
  • Responsible for conducting reviews, writing and completing reports and logs.
  • Maintain awareness of gaming operation at all times and comply with security policies and procedures in order to secure company assets.
  • Monitor the integrity of slot machines and review large jackpots to ensure compliance with ICM.
  • Responsible for ensuring all cage policies and procedures are adhered to in regards to fills, credits, chip/currency deliveries, money escorts and large cash transactions.  Observe daily table and soft drop processes as well as the count and buy process for each.
  • Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest calibre of customer service and respect to all patrons, employees and OLG personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.  Comply with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Additional or different responsibilities or duties, which are consistent with the position summary, may be assigned at the discretion of position’s supervisor.
