Job Description:
Based in Vancouver, BC and reporting to the Senior Manager, Injury Claims, you will be responsible for adjusting BC and Alberta bodily injury liability claims. You will effectively control independently adjusted claims along with claims handled by legal counsel ensuring that CDI standards are being met, coverages are in order, payments are accurate and equitable, and settlement strategies are utilized minimizing expenses. This is a technical and administrative position which requires the individual to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Requirements:
• University degree or post-secondary education
• Technical diploma in an insurance business discipline with proven working knowledge displayed in the claims examining field
• Enrollment in or completion of the CIP program
• 10 years insurance industry experience. Experience in the Alberta Auto insurance industry is an asset
• Excellent knowledge of claims adjusting procedures and standards
• Good working knowledge of applicable section of the Insurance Act and Regulations
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills necessary to value and settle large, complex claims
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to co-ordinate a variety of tasks
• Ability to organize work, coach employees, work independently with sound decision making abilities and problem solving skills
• Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite-Excel, PowerPoint and Word
