Job Duties:

  • Efficiently and effectively manages physical, material, financial, technological and human resources (more than 130 employees) for the offices of the two associate vice-presidents and their sectors. 
  • Plays a key role in strategic planning, development and evaluation of activities and programs that help fulfill the objectives of the offices of both associate vice-presidents and their staffs. 
  • Handles strategic and ad hoc communications to target audiences regarding new initiatives and programs. 
  • Communicates financial and material resource management policies and procedures. 
  • Develops training on corporate business processes and operations to enhance the knowledge, expertise and autonomy of campus users. 
  • Provides support to both associate vice-presidents for their projects, initiatives and organizations, and may replace the Associate Vice-President, Student Services, when the Associate Vice President’s direct involvement is not required.


Job Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of and experience in strategic planning and developing organizational performance evaluation frameworks (setting objectives, targets, strategies, performance indicators) normally acquired through a university degree program, preferably a master’s degree in management, public administration or the equivalent 
  • Thorough knowledge of the University’s operations, governance, structure, and administrative mechanisms and policies 
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of management, budget planning and human resources, physical and material resource management 
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of organizational change and experience in leading change to increase efficiency and teamwork 
  • Knowledge of and experience in project management 
  • Experience in managing human, financial and material resources
  • Experience in marketing, communications and public relations 
  • Experience in developing business plans and planning documents 
  • Experience in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating communication plans 
  • Experience in administrative writing in order to prepare business plans, strategic plans, analyses, reports and recommendations
  • Experience managing teams of professionals, and resolving problems and disputes (negotiation) 
  • Experience using computer systems and software such as Windows, the Internet, spreadsheets, databases and email 
  • Excellent work organization skills (procedures, prioritization, tight timelines, tracking) 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills 
  • Bilingualism - English and French (written and spoken)

Note: Temporary assignment or contract of six (6) months, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits will be determined upon hiring.

This position is excluded from all union accreditation units.
