Job Description
Provides strategic and operational leadership in the planning, development and implementation of financial strategies as well as in human, material and IT resource management for activities such as budgetary planning and oversight, to ensure Faculty teaching and research activities run effectively and efficiently.

Job Requirements:

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of financial and human resource management normally acquired through a combination of an undergraduate degree as well as a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a management position 
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in designing and implementing organization-wide policies and strategies 
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and processes involved in strategic planning in order to develop and guide the creation of short- and long-term plans 
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in financial management and forecasting 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the University’s mandate, vision and culture, and of the Faculty’s vision and objectives 
  • Experience in project management as well as in managing human resources, including ensuring effective teamwork, resolving conflict and conducting negotiations 
  • Experience using computer systems and software, such as Windows, word processing applications, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, email and the Internet, among others

Other competencies:

  • Ability to analyze and interpret documents in order to apply relevant policies, procedures and collective agreements 
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines 
  • Analytical skills and capacity for synthesis; ability to always see the big picture 
  • Bilingualism — French and English (spoken and written)
