Job Description:
As part of our Financial Analysis and Business Support (FABS) team, this role acts as a Finance business partner and provides proactive financial analysis and business advisory support to our business leaders within Business Operations and Business Services groups nationally. This position will report to our National Office FABS leader and will be located at our 2 Queen Street location.

Job Duties:

  •     Play a proactive role with Leaders in drivingbusiness performance
  •     Work with the client leadership teams to gain a well–rounded understanding of their business drivers andfinancial implications.
  •     Ongoing assessment of the operationalstrategy, targets,processes and policies in supportof theBusinessunits’ objectives by supporting bettermanagement reporting,information flow andmanagementandbusiness processes
  •     Collaborate withinternal clients to lead the financialplanning andforecasting preparation ,Period end financial reportingand variance analysis
  •     Work with relevantTalent Advisortounderstand current andfuture staffing impacts on the financial plan
  •     Provide ongoingbusinessinsights versus plan orforecastincluding presentations to the leadership teamon periodic financial results
  •     Provide analysis ofperiodvariances to provide insightand help drive next steps
  •     Prepare operationalcost analysis encompassing varianceanalysis of non–clientexpenses
  •     Research, analyze andrespond toad hoc requests forfinancial information from within the Firm
  •     Drive all period end/reporting activities and analysis including appropriate accruals and journal entries where required
  •     Proactively look toimprove operations, processes and policies to improve alignmentwith business plans
  •     Team with otherNational Office Financial Analysis and Business Support colleagues to share best practices and gain efficiencies
  •     Lead and/orparticipate in firm wide Finance initiatives, fostering integration andcollaborationacross regions andservices
  •     Ad hoc reportingor analysis, as required

Job Requirements:
  •     Degree in business/commerce/mathematics/engineering with designations (CA, CPA, CFA) or MBA
  •     Experience in Big 4 Firm and 5–7 years of progressive experience in business performance and planning and analysis, preferably in a large matrixed environment
  •     Excellent oral and written communication skills
  •     Strong knowledge of business and finance fundamentals with deep analytical skills
  •     Strategic thinker who is able to see the big picture and subsequently provide recommendations to internal clients and contribute to service initiatives
  •     Ability to review data and processes plan and logically construct and execute solutions
  •     Strong ability to build relationships including remote relationships
  •     Tolerance for ambiguity
  •     Customer focused, proactive and results–oriented
  •     Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  •     Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize work in a demanding environment
  •     Ability to exercise sound judgment in interpreting firm policies and objectives
  •     Extremely detailed oriented and able to work with time–sensitive and confidential information
  •     Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel with experience in macros
  •     Strong knowledge of other MS Office Suite programs such as Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  •     Knowledge of Aderant (time & billing system) is considered an asset
  •     Professional manner
