About Us
The Saskatoon StarPhoenix has an immediate opening for a highly and experienced individual to become part of our Pressroom team working on a GOSS Universal 70 press.

Job Requirements:
• Valid journeyperson press operator certificate or a minimum of 4 years of experience as a Press Operator;
• Must have single wide offset experience;
• Knowledge of paper handling area and Reel room fundamentals;
• Must be physically able to perform all job duties to operate a web offset press;
• Strong communication skills
• Must be prepared to work days, nights and weekends.


Job Duties:
• Lead webs from reel room through printing couples to folder;
• Instal and register plates on press cylinder;
• Set ink density, adjust pages to proper ink and water setting;
• Load newsprint rolls in reels and prepare for splicing to expiring web;
• Perform maintenabce duties; install blankets, install and set press rollers, rebuild and install spray bars;
• Keep a clean work environment, ensuring that company standards are observed;
• Maintain operation of a running press through Master board and folder operation;
• Work collaboratively with associates, helping others on an ongoing basis and following safety procedures and guidelines at all times;
