Job descriptions:
This candidate will be part of the Data Management Services Team, responsible for infrastructure support of the Enterprise Service Bus on distributed platforms. Responsibilities will include day to day administration of the infrastructure, installation and patching the infrastructure, guiding and supporting applications on the use of the products, and participating in the development of standards and processes.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Experience with any ESB products preferably on Software AG (former WebMethods) ESB products
- Experience with SOA and/or web applications and technology
- Knowledge on Windows Server platform
- Knowledge of Java, SQL, and Windows scripting
- Knowledge of mainframe z/OS, IMS, CICS is an asset
- Fast learner and keep pace of technology trends
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and high team spirit are essentials
- Candidate must work well in a fast-paced, changing environment and be able to manage multiple tasks, projects, and initiatives all with different priorities at the same time
- Candidate must possess a genuine desire to provide service excellence to our I/T customers
- Candidate must possess good communication skills
- Must demonstrate proven ability to analyze problems, propose solutions, and drive issues to resolution
- Must be results oriented and willing to take responsibility
Job Duties:
- Work with application developers to optimize the use of ESB products and trouble-shoot problems related to the products
- Install/configure/administer ESB products
- Monitor and tune infrastructure to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Provide support for Disaster Recovery as required
- Ensure new application designs fit into the established infrastructure and that operational controls are part of the initial design
- Conform and enforce established standards, guidelines, and procedures for the middleware products
- Adhere to Sun Life standards and strategies; and implement security in compliance with the SOX and audit requirements
- Initiate and deliver R & D efforts to evaluate new releases and fixes to existing technology and alternatives that could provide enhanced capabilities and value
- Commit to timely delivery of milestones
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for sharing of knowledge
- Require weekend and off-hour support and on-call work. Respond to on-call as per Sun Life SLA
